Pappa's Day

What I love most about this year's Fathers day was the pure spontaneity of our day. After spending months planning and prepping for Olivia's 3rd birthday, and so many other birthday parties this month, I was too worn out to make a solid Father's day agenda. Since Antz is mellow by nature and doesn't like a big fuss, we decided to just hop in the car and see where the road takes us. We didn't want to go to our usual spots since holidays bring crowds so we ventured out past our neighborhood for brunch. Lucky we ended up at one of our favorite places to eat and we made it in time before the rush.

It may be heart attack inducing but it's so amazingly yummy!

After we stuffed our faces with delicious chicken and waffles we drove to Manhattan beach and hit the parking jackpot *free parking close to the beach is impossible* We hung out on the beach for a few hours, enjoying the sun and watching Liv play in the sand.

This lady is growing up so fast

Before we could get sunburned, we headed over to check out the newly renovated Echo Park Lake. It was packed with people but we found parking. Sadly the ducks haven't returned to the lake yet but it was wonderful seeing the clean *although artificially blue* water and the beautiful landscape *let's hope it stays clean*

Liv made this rad frame for Pappa at school.

So that sums up our Father's day, easy peasy we couldn't have asked for a lovelier day or a lovelier Pappa.

Björk at the Hollywood Bowl

Let me repeat that...

Björk Gudmundsdóttir AT THE HOLLYWOOD  BOWL!!!

I actually toned it down with my conservative look for Antz sake
DATE NIGHT!!
I have no idea who the opening band was...wasn't really into them, sorry!
Her voice was like heaven at this venue, our seats were great and despite the drunk gay guy next to me groping and slurring in my ear most of the time, I was in enthralled.
Yeah, Björk is so fucking amazing, she produces electricity with her voice
FIRE!!!
RAISE YOUR FLAG!!
Here's the videos I took *they are uploading so it will be awhile before I can add them*
Here's the setlist, the encore was RIDICULOUS!! I was jumping through the whole thing *which sucks for the video I took*
The show was STELLAR!! I screamed, cried, danced...so much fun!!
Me and Mr. Sleepyface
I always meet new friends at björk shows
Word of caution, never give your camera to a drunk bitch who says she will take a photo of you and your husband.
We hung out as long as we could to get a setlist *or maybe sneak into the after party again* then Antz reminded me we will miss our bus back to the Zoo, where we parked
We made it just in time.
Thanks so much Story & Chris for bebesitting Liv for us!! Super hugs and thanks to Erin for helping me sell my extra tickets. Thanks to Brian for sharing his cider beer and allowing me to scream in his ears during the entire show.

Here's some *much better* photos from Björk's facebook page. THANK YOU for an phenomenal show. I'll never forget seeing Björk at the Bowl!!

LILAPALOOZA

We attended Liv's future lycée's annual fundraiser for their senior class prom. The students came up to us to thank us for coming and helping with their prom fund but they first asked which do we prefer, English or French? *swoon!* We got name tags that said we were future a future family so a number of people introduced themselves to us and welcomed us. Of course, the first question everyone asks is, "Do you speak French?" It pained me having to say no to all these awesome French speakers. Yet hearing the little ones speaking French as easy as English was so inspiring. We hung out with a family from her current school, who have a prospective student too. I feel so at home there, very warm and friendly people.

I am hoping she is able to attend this amazing school
Class of 2028!!

French circus in LA
All the signs were in French, so adorable!
This *unflattering* photo is the head of school, her name is Elizabeth *it's a sign, right?* and she is the smartest woman I've ever met.
I LOVE this Mexican dress from Godmommy *crossing this off on my Summer Bucket List*
I was blown away by the event. There were bands performing in French, a petting zoo, food and tons of wine and the bubbles were a big hit...

Honestly, I was a bit bummed adults couldn't do it too *although I'm not sure I would NOT have fit inside*

Rouleaux de Spheres Humaines which Google translates to Rolls Human Spheres!
We weren't sure she would go inside the bubble, she kept saying, "My dress will get wet."

This little one was fascinated by the bubble
At first she was apprehensive
Liv had so much fun, it was worth the hour long wait.
mon chat mignon

This lovely lady in red is Jenny Eloise. I had to meet her when she caught me snapping a photo of her. She told me she needed to pose for a proper photo, si fabuleux! She performed before we arrived but I know I'll see rad Jenny again one day soon.

She was grumpy since we were leaving
I'm so glad my Mom was able to check out Liv's future school. She loves it and we can't wait until Olivia is speaking French. I really need to step my French up, Olivia will need someone to speak to when she's at home, oui?
